African decision-makers are navigating the EV transition without the comprehensive data and rigorous analysis they need to craft smart policy or guide investment. Anecdotes and isolated startup success stories dominate the conversation, while global EV outlooks overlook Africa entirely or focus narrowly on a few markets.

Building on the Africa EV Readiness & Impact Index, ATFL is convening a working group of leading African and global experts to identify critical data and knowledge gaps, align fragmented research efforts, and design a shared research and funding agenda that links researchers, policymakers, industry, and investors.
