Jabri Ibrahim
Jabri Ibrahim is a Fellow at the African Tech Futures Lab. He most recently worked as an Associate at the Africa Climate and Energy Nexus (AfCEN), supporting efforts to accelerate Africa’s climate and energy response. Previously, he served on the Africa team of the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions, following roles with the UNFCCC Secretariat’s Stakeholder Engagement Team and multilateral experience across UNEP, the Kenya Red Cross, and Crevit Mulier Advocates.
Jabri has helped regionalize global climate initiatives for Africa across COP25–COP29, including work on the Africa Green Hydrogen Alliance and advancing clean power and clean cooking agendas. He has also contributed to emerging work on critical minerals and responsible mining, supporting the launch of an initiative with IRMA at COP28 focused on African state-owned mining enterprises.
He currently serves on the UN Secretary-General’s Youth Advisory Group on Climate, representing African youth perspectives at the highest levels of the UN. Jabri holds an MSc with Distinction in Energy and Climate Policy from the University of Sussex as a Chevening Scholar, and bachelor’s degrees in Law and Environmental Science from the University of Nairobi.
